| Dobermans are also especially sensitive to Parvovirus. As for safety of introducing another pet...make sure any new dog in the home is over 16 weeks old and fully vaccinated. Your vet should use a modified live parvovirus vaccine. Puppies should be vaccinated every 3 weeks starting at or after 6 weeks of age with the last vaccination occurring between 14-16 weeks (24 weeks if it's a susceptibe breed, as mentioned previously, that's more susceptible to deveoloping parvoviurs infection). Then they should be vaccinated yearly. |

| Parvovirus will stay in your house or yard for a year. Most pups that are vaccinated and have 10 days for the immune system to respond will not get so sick like yours did. Was yours a pit x, maltese, rottie these are breeds with tweaked and immature immune systems that seem to be really affected |
