I have three cats and they all chew on grass almost every time they go outside. I read an article recently that studied why pets eat grass. Their conclusion? They're not sure...they just do.
To my knowledge, it does not help reduce hairballs. I did have one feline patient eat fake grass. It ate so much of it that we had to remove it surgically.
Don't worry, your cat is normal. |

| Thanks for letting me know. My cats don't eat grass like crazy fortunately but they crave it once a while. But sometimes the little one chews the plastic strips of the cat toy. I guess he's mistaken it for grass. Whenever I see it I stop him. So far so good. |

| Meanwhile I should go get some hairball treatment. But for now their food has the hairball control function. |

| My cat craves kitty grass too. I believe it's pretty common. |
