How can I clip my dog's nails when he won't settle down?

My dog doesn't like anyone to touch his paws. He becomes restless when I try to clip his nails. What should I do to make him calm down?

Reward him with a treat like a piece of a chicken hot dog or deli meat everytime he lets you rub his paws daily for for a week

Then clip one nail every other day and reward him every time he lets you do that

Then try 2 nails etc.

Sometimes with his nose in a jar of chicken baby food, he will not notice the torture as much
