Dogs and other pets offer us so much. Companionship, protection, stress relief, and love. Not to mention fur balls, messes, and hours spent cleaning. It’s all worth it, of course.
And now it is time to have some fun. Here is a list of all the ways you can tell that you are a proud dog owner.
You know you’re a dog owner if...
1. You are greeted at the door every time you come home but a happy, excited dog.
2. You find doggie poop bags in your pants pockets and purse (if you are a woman).
3. You keep a lint roller in your car, desk drawer, near the closet, and a mini one always near you.
4. You step, if you’re lucky, trip if you are not, on dog toys practically every other day.
5. You have to stop in the dog food aisle every time you go to the store.
6. You add PetCo or some other pet store to your errands list.
7. You know exactly what wet dog smells like
8. There is trash on the floor instead of in the trash can you when you home from work.
9. You spend far too much time on sites like Yeepet.com
10. Dog fur is everywhere, no matter how hard to you try. This is especially true of those nice black slacks you wear to work.
11. You find the dog at the party more entertaining than the host.
12. You look for fun places to go on the weekends where your dog can go with you.
13. Your dog is in your family picture.
14. You plan your vacations around vet appointments
15. You actually know what unconditional love is.
16. You look forward to the attention from your dog after a long day of work.
17. They know you by name at the pet store.
18. You refer to them as “mixed breeds” instead of “mutts”
19. You swear your dog knows what you are saying.
20. You swear your dog answers you.
21. You do not trust people who do not like dogs.
22. You can’t imagine life without your dog.
23. You can’t imagine how other people survive without a dog.
24. You feel (know) you watch tons more Animal Planet than your friends.
25. A shelf in your closet is devoted to dog supplies.
