If you have a pet, you know about fur. Mostly, you know what a pain it can be to remove from your carpet, rugs, furniture, clothing, and just about everything else. Vacuums are an important tool for every pet owner. If you are like many of us, you have burnt out a motor or too during the shedding seasons, so you know the importance of a good vacuum. There are lots of vacuums on the market that claim to remove your pet’s fur from around your home, but which ones really do?
Well, the reviews are in. According to Viewpoints.com, the five vacuums below came in on top. Every review on this site is user submitted, so you know you can trust the unbiased and honest (sometimes too honest) reviews.
Let’s get started.
1. Dyson DC14 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum

At the top of the list is the Dyson DC14 Animal Cyclone Upright vacuum. With an overall rating of 4.61 out of 5 stars and 566 reviews written at the time of this posting, this product is the clear winner. This vacuum moves easily from carpet to hardwood floors and comes with a variety of attachments.
On the other hand, reviews say they do not use many of the attachments, this unit is a little on the pricey side (between $300 and $500), and it does not fit well under low cabinets or furniture.
2. Dyson DC25 Animal Ball Upright Vacuum

This vacuum, the Dyson DC25 Animal Ball Upright, has many review that start by mentioning how much this vacuum picks up. That is a really good aspect when reviewing vacuums. Other pros include the agility of the unit since it uses a ball instead of wheels to turn and pivot, and its ability to clean hardwood and carpeted floors.
On the con side, reviews stated the shortness of the hose extension, the heavy weight of the unit, and its higher price (between $340 and $400).
3. Dyson DC27 Vacuum

Wow, Dyson takes the top three of the top five spots on the list! That is pretty impressive. Rounding out the top three is the Dyson DC27 vacuum. Reviews remark how “awesome” and “stellar” this product is along with some more descriptive phrases including how well it holds up over time and how powerful the suction is (very).
Of course, there are some negatives. For this vacuum, those negatives include the strange hose system, the lack of a retractable power cord, and the price (between $420 and $600).
4. Hoover WindTunnel U6485-900 Vacuum

At the fourth spot on the list is the Hoover WindTunnel U6485-900 vacuum. Hoover is definitely a top brand of vacuums, as many reviews point out. With their long history of good performance, it is hard to not think of Hoover when you think of vacuums.
This particular model received many great reviews and is the only non bagless upright model on the list. Some of the positive comments include how lightweight the model is, how reliable the company is, and what a good deal it is for the price (between $150 and $230).
5. Kenmore Progressive Canister With Pet PowerMate Vacuum

Kenmore, only sold at Sears, made it to our list with its Progressive Canister with Pet PowerMate vacuum. This is the only non upright model on the list, which may be a sign that uprights are not the only ones on trend these days.
Reviews liked how effective this vacuum is at cleaning and picking up dirt and fur, the versatility of the unit, and how well it is built. On the other hand, they do not appreciate how expensive the bags are, how difficult it can be to detach the hose from the wand, or how loud it is when turned on.
That’s if for the top five vacuums for cleaning up pet fur. But did you know, there is even a vacuum for cleaning your pet. It’s called the Anivac Bathing System. Read more about by clicking here.
