If you ever asked yourself, " My electric humidifier is fine, but why can't it be powered by my cat? ", you would likely be the second person to ever make that correlation. The first person, inventor
Yuan Gu, already created a prototype for the idea.
Enter the
Wool Ball, a sphere-shaped household humidifier designed to draw power from being rolled around by your power. Though the machine can be run normally via connection to standard electrical outlet, it also contains a built-in battery charged by rolling motion. When not in use, you can simply sprinkle the Wool Ball with catnip and let your cat charge the device. Of course, your cat will be oblivious to the practicality of the Wool Ball, other than the profoundly interesting fact that it rolls when pushed.
Though the device has not yet been been picked up by a manufacturer, this hybrid humidifier saves energy and money while doubling as a cat toy. If it does come to market at a reasonable price, it may well be a good investment for people who like both moist air and happy cats. Learn more about the Wool Ball
