Most cats of the indoor/outdoor variety don't stray too far from home, and most have a great sense of direction. My cat Charlie, in his younger days before he became an indoor-only guy, would sometimes sneak down the (short) road to the boatyard at the end of our street in rural Rhode Island to check out the action there, or would also love to jump on my next-door neighbor's roof in Albuquerque, singing at the top of his lungs until I would come outside. He would then show off for me, strutting back and forth at a precarious height, and displaying what an adventureous cat he was.
Charlie never had anything on this www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32240386/ guy. I don't want to give too much away, (like how he gets on or gets home) but a cat named Casper in England has been riding the bus on a regular basis.
That's right, the bus. He waits for it to stop and then boards, and cruises around town. Evidently it worries his owner sick, but she hasn't been able to stop him.
You have to read this story today, if nothing else. It's pretty cool, and will probably serve as a tool to keep your cat inside from now on - I know that bus fares keep rising, and cats never earn enough to truly pay their own way.!
