Bo Obama, a Portuguese water dog, sure is getting big. Born on October 9, 2008, and growing at the rate of a typical dog, he's all grown up now. From running around in a rainbow lei to patrolling the White House lawn, Bo is a favorite sight to see.
A gift from the late Senator Edward Kennedy, Bo now has a monetary value thanks to tax/gifting laws. Bo has been valued at $1,600, proof that everything in Washington has a price.
As a doggie ambassador, Bo Obama works tirelessly around the clock to show the world how wonderful having a dog as a pet can be. And what a good example he is. Well behaved and trained, he is often let off leash to roam the halls and lawns of his home, sits dignified while waiting for Michelle or the children, and even greats guests with a happily wagging tail.
