If you are tired of picking up after your dog, there is a new product that you should look into. It is called the AshPoopie and it can burn away your dog’s waste. No kidding. With a simple hand held machine, you can now disintegrate your dog’s waste. All that will be left is a small handful of ash, which is sterile and can therefore be left on the ground where it was deposited.
The Product The AshPoopie is a product that aims to make scooping dog waste a thing of the past. Instead of scooping, you can now burn away the waste. Basically, this product is a pole that you are supposed to carry with you when you are out with your dog. After the dog defecates, you push a button on the wand and it extends and opens at the lower end. A grabber mechanism extends out of the wand and closes around the waste. With the push of another button, the heating element inside the wand incinerates the dog waste until it is an odorless and sterile pile of ash.
The Good The AshPoopie comes with some very good benefits. One of the best is that it means the end of bending over to pick up poo. No one enjoys that task.
In less than a minute, this product can turn a pile of messy and smelly waste into a smaller, odorless and sterile pile of ash that is safe to leave on the ground. In fact, the small pile of ash is beneficial to the earth since it contains nutrients that will fertilize plant life. Talk about a green product! The only concern as far as the AshPoopie being ecofriendly is the product itself. It is made from plastics and metal. The company, Paulee CleanTec does not say specifically what it is made from on the website.
On the upside, the AshPoopie does not require maintenance or cleaning besides replacing the capsule cartridge.
The Not So Good This product may be really useful, but it is also an eyesore. Not too many people want to be carrying a pole the size of a light saber or umbrella (for non Star Wars fans). It might be great in your back yard, but not too many of us will be bringing this product to the dog park.
So far, the product looks like it will only be available in one size, which might be too big or too small of some pets.
Coming Soon The AshPoopie is not out in stores yet nor is there a suggested retail price available. It is slated to become available sometime in 2012.
