Since pets so often become like a part of our human family, we often give them a nickname - one that reflects part of their personality or a unique trait that they have. Their nicknames can be endearing like muffin kiss, or lets you know about a special talent they may possess, like stink butt.
We may give out pets a nickname without even realizing it - when you call your pet, or snuggle up with them, or give them hugs and special attention, do you find yourself calling them something other than their usual name? Well, then you can safely say that your pet has a nickname!
My pets' nicknames have seemed to be an extension of their real name. Like for my dog Leeta, she becomes Leeta Loo, or Little Leeta, LeeLee, or some such variation. A Siamese cat I had years and years ago was named Tippy, and would frequently be called Tip Tip Tippy Toes (and yes, she was constantly knocking things over as she'd weave her way through things)
Do you have a special name for your pet? Is it a silly name or a loving name? I think all kinds of pet names are great and helps to grow the bond between you and your pet.
What is even more fun is to talk about humans with animal nicknames! How about:
