Dogs, cats, birds, snakes and reptiles, hamsters and small furry creatures are all great pets. Each one offers us something special and make our lives happier. But how cool would it be if some of the made up pets from the movies were real? Take a look at the list below and then leave a comment if you have always wanted a pet from the movies.
1. Buckbeak from Harry Potter Buckbeak is one of the many pets that the happy giant Hagrid looks after at the Hogwarts castle. Buckbeak is a hippogriff, that is basically a half bird, half horse. This animal is very proud and loyal to those that respect it. In order to gain respect and the right to ride on its back, you must bow first. If he or she bows back, you are allowed. Buckbeak ends up getting sentanced to death due to some truth stretching from Draco Malfoy but is saved by Harry, Ron, and Hermoine. Eventually, Harry becomes the owner of the creature and lets Hagrid take care of him.
2. Slimer from Ghostbusters Slimer is a lovable green ghost from the Ghostbusters movies and comic books. He got his name after he covered one of the gang with ectoplasm. Slimer is known for his antics and, of course, slimming. Slimer is an unofficial mascot for the team both in the movies and in the cartoon. He even had his own cartoon for awhile.
3. Gizmo from Gremlins Gizmo is the adorable gremlin the audience inevitably falls in love with during the Gremlins movie. With his adorable fluffy face and big eyes, it is easy to see why. But gremlins have come with a few strike rules. 1. Avoid sunlight, 2. Do NOT feed them after midnight, and 3. Do not EVER get them wet. If you break the rules, you will pay. Gremlins will turn into mean, nasty, fur-less creatures who are not very nice at all.
4. Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon More recently, the movie How To Train Your Dragon, gives us a taste of what having a nice dragon might be like. In the movie, the young male lead character named Hiccup is able to befriend a dragon he ends up naming Toothless. This dragon turns out to be very lovable and friendly. Hiccup then realizes he has to find some way of telling his fellow townspeople that there are more to dragons then they believe. By the end of the movie, dragons and humans get along much better.
